Belichick brushes aside Brady concussion queries

In May, Tom Brady's wife Gisele Bündchen disclosed in an interview with CBS This Morning's Charlie Rose that the Patriots quarterback has suffered from multiple concussions, including one last season.

Brady was never listed on Patriots' official injury reports with a concussion during the season.

On Tuesday, before the first practice of New England's mandatory minicamp, ESPN's Mike Reiss finally brought up the Brady concussion story with Belichick.

BB: We file our reports in compliance with league guidelines.

The NFL was put on alert in May when Gisele Bundchen told "CBS This Morning" that Brady has a history of concussions, including one suffered previous year.

"Not sure when the next one is due, probably sometime in September".

Q: How challenging is managing the reporting and treatment of concussions from a team standpoint?

"We file an injury report every week", said Belichick.

"You know, our medical staff really handles the injury situation with players", Belichick said. "That's not really my job". He said Tuesday it is where he wants to be - possibly beyond 2017, the final year of his contract. I don't really think it's a healthy thing for your body to go through, through that kind of aggression, like, all the time. "That's what we have medical staff for", Belichick said.

"When it comes to the (concussion) protocol stuff, I don't know what that is", Rivera said. I mean we don't talk about it. In a separate statement, the National Football League said "There are no records that indicate that Mr. Brady suffered a head injury or concussion". "There are no records that indicate that Mr. Brady suffered a head injury or concussion, or exhibited or complained of concussion symptoms". Today we have been in contact with the NFLPA and will work together to gather more information from the club's medical staff and Mr. Brady. "It was explained to me afterwards, and after it was explained to me, I told you what was explained to me".
