Rep. Steve Scalise's Condition Upgraded To 'Fair' After Baseball Field Shooting

The hospital issued a statement on Wednesday saying Rep. Steve Scalise, 51, of Louisiana is "beginning an extended period of healing and rehabilitation".

"The American Hospital Association says a person is in fair condition when the vital signs are stable and within normal limits; the patient is conscious, but may be uncomfortable; and indicators are favorable".

Hodgkinson, who authorities said spent the last few months living in a white van parked at a local YMCA, opened fire just after 7 a.m. Wednesday on Republican lawmakers and staffers practicing for a charity baseball game scheduled the next day.

Bailey, Griner, and Barth were released from the hospital last week, but Mika is still undergoing treatment in serious condition, according to National Journal reporter Daniel Newhauser. "The U.S. Capitol Police and Alexandria Police Department internal investigations are ongoing".
