John Morgan Sues Florida for Smokeable Medical Marijuana

John Morgan gets 'ready to rumble' on no-smoke medical pot

"Inhalation is a medically effective and efficient way to deliver Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and other cannabinoids, to the bloodstream", the lawsuit states.

Pushing back on politically warped logic, Morgan told Sunshine State News: "I don't know what their problem is with smoke but that's clearly the intent of the amendment".

Fay said Gov. Rick Scott and lawmakers "took the responsible approach in implementing" the state's new constitutional amendment on medical marijuana.

A Florida attorney sued the state on Thursday after its legislature passed a law prohibiting medical marijuana patients from smoking weed within their own homes.

The lawsuit asserts that by tweaking the definition of "medical use", a constitutionally defined term, Florida's legislature substituted its medical judgment for that of "a licensed Florida physician", conflicting with Florida's Constitution.

But now Morgan says that the Florida legislature has ignored the original goal of the amendment in favor of money and donors.

When asked Thursday whether he was still contemplating a run for governor, John Morgan told reporters about his warning to his pal, Florida House Speaker Richard Corcoran.

He said he is now drafting another amendment initiative that will earn him more free media - raising the Florida minimum wage - and is will start collecting signatures this year, get the language before the Florida Supreme Court next year, and have it ready for the 2020 election ballot, another presidential election year.

Critics have slammed the idea of smokeable medical marijuana as just another way to legalize recreational marijuana.

The legislation allows for 10 additional medical marijuana treatment centers to be opened by October 3rd.

"There are big issues that I feel strongly about such as the decriminalization of marijuana, potentially even the legalization of marijuana, fighting for public school teachers, restoring felons' rights and most importantly a fair wage for people who work their asses off".

Also citing a 2012 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, Morgan's lawsuit takes on the assertion that inhaling marijuana smoke is detrimental to an individual's health.

Assuming he runs as a Democrat, he'd face former Tallahassee Congresswoman Gwen Graham, Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, and Orlando businessman Chris King.

The Orlando-based attorney said the stipulation on smoking contradicts the Florida Constitution and the intent of voters who approved the amendment. Ray Rodrigues (R-Estero) for banning smoking. Morgan asks, "I don't".
