Olympic champions Kipruto and Braz hit trouble at Rabat Diamond League

RABAT, MOROCCO-Canada's Andre De Grasse sprinted to another Diamond League victory, winning the 200 metres Sunday in his final individual race before next month's world championships.

"It was a good race and a good performance. I was pushed in the bend but I wanted to finish strong today and to stay relaxed", said De Grasse. "This was a race to tune-up for the world championships and it went pretty well".

In the women's triple jump, Jamaican Kimberly Williams finished second with an effort of 14.31 metres.

Thompson's time of 10.87 was an improvement on her run in London last weekend by 0.07, and more success for the double Olympic champion, who has focused only on this distance in 2017.

"I am confident that I will be ready (for World Champs) and I will be going to Germany to see my doctor for some assessment on the groin", he said. "I can run, but I do not want to risk it", he said.

Ivorian Ben Youssef Meite was second in 10.01, while another Britain, Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake, was some way off the pace in third in a time of 10.18.

"I made a decision to race and I was hoping the pain would stay away", said the 22-year-old Kenyan after Morocco's home runner Soufiane El Bakkali had stepped up to earn a home win in a personal best of 8min 05.12sec.

Fast-starting Jamaican Christania Williams, who has a season's best of 11.03, will be hoping to finally put a complete race together, while Jura Levy will be aiming to dip below her best this season of 11.06.

Tihomir Ivanov of Bulgaria and Britain's Robbie Grabarz, second and third, were among five in the field to clear 2.27 - of whom one, significantly, was Italy's European champion Gianmarco Tamberi.

Miller-Uib coasted home in 49.80, but Semenya was well back in seventh in a time of 51.53, though that was her best run of the Diamond League series.

Jamaica's shot put World Championships bronze medallist O'Dayne "Flintstone" Richards, will try to break the recent dominance of America's Rio champion Ryan Crouser, who will be hunting his 10th-straight victory in the shot put.
