Republican anti-Donald Trump group launches new Vladimir Putin ad

Trump Germany G20 Russia

Russia and the United States don't have any initiatives on preparing for a new meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his USA counterpart Donald Trump, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. This was at the Group of 20 summit and some reliable sources revealed that the two engaged each other in an about two-and-a-quarter-hour meeting.

"It will be a time for Democrats to air every one of these Russian allegations against a Trump nominee, and Huntsman is going to have to deal with that", said Kirk Jowers, former head of the University of Utah's Hinckley Institute of Politics.

Putin in 2012 approved a law that banned Americans from adopting Russian children in retaliation for a new USA human rights law which he said was poisoning relations. Trump has repeatedly cast doubt on their findings and dismissed investigations into potential collusion between his campaign and Moscow as a "witch hunt". The meeting had been billed as part of a Russian government effort to help the Republican's White House campaign.

Mr Trump left his seat and headed to Mr Putin, who had been sitting next to Mr Trump's wife, Melania, US media said. "The meeting took place during the G20 heads of state dinner and lasted for roughly an hour, Ian Bremmer, the president of the global consulting firm Eurasia Group, told the newspaper".

The President's son had released e-mails earlier this month that showed him eagerly agreeing to meet past year with a woman he was told was a Russian government lawyer who might have damaging information about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Steffen Seibert, a spokesman for Merkel, wouldn't comment Wednesday on specific conversations but said the dinner "did, exactly as hoped, produce a lively exchange" between many participants.

Hatch said the confirmation process could take a few months, though the Senate knows Huntsman from his previous service as US ambassador to Singapore and China.
