'Deadpool 2' Stunt Driver Dead After Accident On Vancouver Set

Stuntwoman killed on Vancouver set of 'Deadpool 2'

CTV News reported that the woman was loaded into an ambulance that drove away without sirens or lights after being at the scene for 45 minutes.

Vancouver police say investigators are on the scene of the crash with representatives of WorkSafeBC.

Motorcycles appear to be heavily used in "Deadpool 2".

Fatalities are fairly rare in the stunt business, though it is risky work that has often resulted in life-altering injuries, such as the paralysis of Daniel Radcliffe's stunt double on the set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I in 2009, or Tom Cruise's own recent stunt-related injury during the filming of Mission: Impossible 6.

A crumpled motorcycle was seen laying on its side at the location of the accident near Vancouver's waterfront.

The driver's name was not immediately released.

At the time, Reynolds thanked the VDP for its efforts. The 2016 Marvel superhero adaptation tells the story of Wade Wilson, a man seeking treatment for his terminal cancer.

The first Deadpool movie earned US$783 million at the box office.

Details about the R-rated sequel have been kept under wraps.

It is believed the stunt woman smashed through the window of Shaw Tower in downtown Vancouver whilst filming on Ryan Reynold's sequel to the smash hit movie. Zazie Beetz and Josh Brolin are new additions to the cast with David Leitch directing.

Deadpool 2 is now filming for a June 1, 2018 theatrical release. Reynolds is pictured on December 19, 2016 in New York City.
