Maple City Health collects six health care grants

Suncoast Community Health Centers

"Today's awards will help health centers to provide their communities with high quality, affordable health care", said Health Resources and Services Administration Adminstrator Dr. George Sigounas. A full list of CT health centers and awards can be found here.

The groups plan to use the additional funds to improve efficiency of the community health care services, like providing primary and preventative care for patients. The announcement came during Health Care Center week.

The THW is the 50 health center in OH to receive FQHC designation, which indicates it meets all of the eligibility requirements of an organization that receives a Public Health Service Section 330 grant, but does not receive grant funding.

Sanders secured $11 billion in the Affordable Care Act to expand and operate community health centers across the country. The program started more than 50 years ago as a small but bold demonstration project to provide health care in medically underserved areas. "And because the care is affordable, they don't have to choose between paying for food and paying for prescription medications", Sanders wrote. We are proud that we can work with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to strengthen and improve the availability of quality primary care and preventive services to everyone who needs it. They accept patients with Medicare, Medicaid, military insurance, private insurance, and no insurance at all.

Maple City Health Care Center Inc. was awarded grants in six out of eight categories: Electronic Health Record reporters, Clinical Quality Improvers, Health Center Quality Leaders, Access Enhancers, Address Health Disparities, and achieving Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition.

Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced that $15,343,762 has been awarded to 173 health centers in California as an investment in quality improvement, building upon their 2016 achievements.

During National Health Center Week 2017 (Aug. 13-19), many congressional leaders will visit a local health center and show their support for a solution that delivers results: lower costs, healthier people and family-wage jobs - we employ 250 people directly and another 100 indirectly.
