Microsoft Surface Plus Financing Program Lets You Upgrade Very 18 Months

Expect to see this a lot when you run an.EXE on Windows 10 S

Microsoft has just announced Surface Plus and Surface Plus for business. A month later, the situation hadn't improved much, with Microsoft stating that the other colors would be available "later this summer". The tech titan is also allowing users to upgrade devices after 18 months, but only if the tablets are returned in "good condition".

We're also excited to announce Surface Plus for Business. The goal is to not only make it easier to buy Surface hardware but to also make it easier to upgrade to the next model when it is released; effectively locking you into the Surface brand in a similar way to the smartphone sales model carriers offer.

The fine print: an interest rate of 19.99% kicks in after 24 months.

Microsoft wants the students to get the right Surface device and Surface Plus will help them. Every 18 months, you'll have the option to trade in your Surface for the latest and greatest model. All of the business machines ship with Win 10 Pro, and Office 365 adds $8/month to the cost. Businesses can opt for an 18-, 24-, or 30-month contract and upgrade their devices after 12 months on the 24-month plan or after 18 months on the 30-month plan, as well as "expand or reduce their fleet mid-term".

The financing options for business, termed Microsoft Surface Plus for Business, have higher prices, as you might expect: Surface Pro 2017 runs $53 per month for 24 months (m3, 4 GB, 128 GB); Surface Studio is $146/month; Surface Book with Performance Base $115/month; and the yuge Surface Hub runs $408 per month. The number of devices under the agreement can also change during the middle of the term as well, the post said.

Device Protection: Surface Plus for Business offers peace of mind with the Microsoft Complete for Business extended service plan with accidental damage protection.

Surface Plus for business adds additional features.

The new Surface Pen initially went up for order in June, but only in one color: Platinum.
