Samsung Bixby Personal Assistant Arrives In UK

The update - which is already available in the United States and South Korea - should already be on your phone. Besides South Korea and the USA, the service - which is similar to Apple's Siri or Amazon's Alexa - is also available in the UK, Australia, Canada, South Africa, and loads more countries.

Instead, Samsung has chosen to differentiate Bixby's "intelligent interface" from other voice assistants by emphasizing its understanding of the way English- and Korean-speaking users talk, ask questions, and make requests, and its compatibility across different applications.

Samsung will officially launch Galaxy Note 8 tomorrow with dedicated Bixby button.

We would love to know what you think of Bixby? Samsung's plan is to continue the expansion of Bixby Voice to more countries, languages, devices, features and third-party applications. The service, a rival to Apple's Siri and Google Assistant, is capable of holding conversations with users and delivering context aware information such as local business details, the weather and the latest football results. Just command through this app with your voice.

Samsung also highlighted Bixby's design to understand typical speech and cross-application commands, and its nature as an "intelligent interface", rather than a standalone app, that enables it to control nearly all the usual functions of apps that are Bixby-enabled. "In the future, Bixby will have the learning power to offer more intelligent and personalised interactions and seamless connections across more devices".

I think Bixby, Samsung's new voice assistant, will also play a role on the Galaxy Note 8.

"If you watch the movie Iron Man, Tony Stark is sitting there interacting with Jarvis, the agent or the assistant, and he uses all the means available to him", Rhee explained to us, using the movie to highlight the goal Samsung has with Bixby. Ahead of the launch, Samsung has already confirmed that the Note 8 will come with S8-like infinity display and S-Pen. Not all accents, dialects and expressions recognized. With its iterative deep learning technology, Bixby is created to improve over time to recognize the customer's personal preferences and ways of speaking.

Samsung believes Bixby is not just another AI assistant.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will sport a 6.3-inch QHD with Infinity Display, whereas the previous rumors suggested the device will have a 6.4-inch display.
