Sarasota: Check your Powerball tickets, you may be $1 million richer

North Dakotans hope to capitalize on record jackpot

She said she found out she had won from a colleague when they were leaving work overnight and promptly went into shock. She said her co-worker followed her home to make sure she was O.K. "And he said "I bet you somebody won with these numbers. and I said, "I know, it's never going to be me, it's a pipe dream I've always had" and he's reading these numbers and I say, 'Oh, I have that number, I have that, I have that, ' and he goes let me see that ticket".

"I wanted to get this over and done with, and then everyone would leave me alone", Wanczyk, the mother of a 31-year-old daughter and a 26-year-old son, told reporters.

A MA woman was the sole victor and chose to take a lump sum payment of $480 million, or $336 million after taxes. The second -largest on record for any US lottery game.

The woman who won Wednesday night's massive $758.7 million Powerball jackpot has come forward to claim the prize.

She said in a press conference that she already quit her job and plans to spend time relaxing. All he would say about the victor is that it is an individual woman. Among the third-place winners, tickets were sold at Wegmans, 3177 Latta Rd., Rochester, and PPOZ Supermarkets, 109 West Main St., Sodus.

The retailers who sold the tickets will receive a $10,000 bonus. He blamed it on human error.

Store owner Bolduc said that he plans to donate the $50,000 commission he'll collect for selling a jackpot victor, to local charities with a primary focus on education and children.

Store co-owner Sonny Singh says it's disappointing.

Originally, they announced that is where a million dollar victor had been sold.

"We support all local charities anyway, so they'll just get a little bonus", Bolduc said.

The lottery initially said a convenience store in Watertown had sold the winning ticket. Jeff Lindsay and his family turned in the lone winning ticket for a $447.8 million Powerball jackpot to the California Lottery.

The Massachusetts State Lottery announced Wanczyk as the holder of the lucky ticket for Wednesday's $758.7 million Powerball jackpot, the largest haul in North American history for a single winning ticket. He says they transcribed it incorrectly.

While the lucky Powerball ticket wasn't sold in the Sunflower State, state lottery spokeswoman Sally Lunsford said two "Hot Lotto" tickets for the Wednesday drawing worth $3,000 each were sold in south-central Kansas.

In Pennsylvania, there were more than 485,000 winners of almost $13 million in Wednesday's Powerball drawing - including one $2 million victor and four winners of $1 million.

The biggest jackpot ever won was $1.6billion in January 2016, but that was split three ways (boo-hoo).

Reporters asked if she had plans to treat herself to something nice, such as a fancy new auto.
