Harrison Ford breaks silence on Carrie Fisher

Asked how unusual it was when Carrie released her book, he said: "It was odd".

California auctioneers Profiles in History said on Thursday that the 158-page shooting script is marked and underlined in pencil by Fisher for every page with dialogue for her character Princess Leia.

Nearly a year after the late Carrie Fisher revealed that she and fellow "Star Wars" star Harrison Ford developed a romantic affair while filming "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" more than 40 years ago, the original Han Solo actor has finally sort of addressed the issue.

The 75-year-old actor responded in the October issue of GQ to his late Star Wars co-star going public about their reported romance in her memoir, The Princess Diarist. At the time, Ford, then 33, was married to Mary Marquardt, with whom he had two children.

Carrie Fisher's hand-annotated script for her "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" movie is expected to fetch up to US$50,000 at an auction next month of her personal property.

When asked if he would have preferred that the late actress had not included details of their dalliance in the book, he declined to comment but noted he'd had "a degree" of notice that it would be disclosed.

"I won't write anything that you don't want", was what Fisher told Ford.

The affair itself has been described as troubling since it reportedly began with Ford making out with a drunk Fisher at a party on set.

"It was so intense", Fisher said in November.

When the interviewer asked if it was okay to ask him it would have been better for the book not to have been published at all, he said yes, only to say no when asked if he would answer the question.

"You know, with Carrie's untimely passing, I don't really feel that it's a subject that I want to discuss", he said. You know, at this point I'd rather do something else. I can't imagine (they're not finished with me).
