Taysom Hill, Jordan Tripp among suprise cuts as Packers finalize roster

Eddie Lacy'in great shape in return to Green Bay will have fourth weigh-in Wednesday

Also Sunday, linebacker Brandon Bell (Mays Landing, Oakcrest) was signed to Cincinnati's practice squad.

However, ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports the team will have defensive end Quinton Dial in for a visit Monday.

The 23-year-old Winnipegger was a priority free agent signing by the Packers in spring after a four-year career at the University of Manitoba.

The Packers really liked the raw-but-talented Price, who spent most of last season on the practice squad but did see action in one game. Hill was claimed off waivers by the Saints.

Hill, a rookie, signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent but was waived by the team Saturday as National Football League teams were forced to cut their opening-day rosters to 53 active players, resulting in more than 1,100 players being cut this past week, most on Friday and Saturday.

He played in 13 games a year ago and was credited by the coaches with 18 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three tackles for loss, nine quarterback pressures, a pass deflection, forced fumble and fumble recovery.

Bell, 22, enjoyed a solid preseason for the Bengals.

Odom, an undrafted rookie out of Arkansas State, had 17 tackles and two sacks for the Falcons in the preseason. He was considered a candidate to make the active roster but was cut in favor of undrafted free agent Hardy Nickerson Jr. The veteran agreed to a one-year deal earlier in the week, though the team has not officially announced the signing.

Rookie quarterback Taysom Hill became a fan favorite in the preseason with his versatility and creativity outside of the pocket, but it wasn't enough to secure a spot on the 53-man roster.
