Vaea Fifita Scores Stunning Try As All Blacks Overcome Argentina

Beauden Barrett gave a masterclass of game management against the Stormers

"It looks like he'll need operation so that'd be the end of the year for him, I'd say", All Blacks coach Steve Hansen told reporters.

"He's not the finished product, there's a long way to go before he does that, it's a big tank with plenty in it".

Moody's injury provides Hansen with yet another puzzle to solve, having watched his All Blacks again fail to play at their ruthless best in the Taranaki.

It was a Test the All Blacks were never expected to lose and they won the try count six to one.

Los Pumas coach Daniel Hourcade rated it his side's best performance of the year after back-to-back losses against South Africa.

The All Blacks, who had Beauden Barrett in the sinbin for a professional foul when Fifita crossed, added two more tries through Damian McKenzie and Barrett to keep them top of the standings heading into next week's clash with the Springboks.

It worked well for them, forcing the All Blacks into the handling and passing errors that have blighted their game since the third British and Irish Lions Test.

New Zealand have overcome Argentina by a score of 39-22 in New Plymouth, largely thanks to a stunning try from flanker Vaea Fifita.

The lanky Fifita, making his first start in his second test, was put into space from 35-metres out and outsprinted the Argentina backline to get the 14-man All Blacks back into the game with 30 minutes remaining.

The Pumas took the easy kick and a 22-15 advantage rather than a scrum and it was a decision they were left to rue as Fifita, with seemingly little on, showed the pace and power of a winger to scorch round the outside of the defence en route to the left corner.
