60% of Chrome traffic on Android is now protected: Google

Using Google Payment allows customers to breeze through checkouts by instantly providing merchants with both payment and shipping information, so there is no typing required on the users' end. Now all you have to do is tap a button, select a preferred card and confirm the transaction with a security code on your Android device. In essence, users can link just about any payment method to their Google accounts, then use that account to check out anywhere online.

So far, Pay with Google will work a handful of services including Dice in the UK, Kayak in the U.S., and iFood in Brazil. One of the announcements made at the developer conference this summer was "Pay with Google" - a new platform that aimed to simplify online purchases with your Google account.

Speaking to TechCrunch, Pali Bhat, Vice President of Payments at Google, said, "Payments is a key capability of the user's Google account".

Google has so many services, they probably know every last credit card you own.

Google first announced the feature at its I/O event in May this year. Several other online stores and service providers will join the fray in the coming months including AirBNB, which means that next holiday could be a lot easier to pay for in the future. The search engine giant has finally put the plan into execution and has launched "Pay with Google" program. "Then, the merchant will handle all the details just like any other purchase", said Google.

The current payment partners include PayPal's Braintree, Stripe, Vantiv, Worldpay, Adyen, and Groupe Paysafe.

In the golden age of digital payments, we hardly use cash.

But Google has lined up a long list of popular services that will offer the faster checkout to customers via their apps and mobile websites, when loaded in the Chrome browser.
