Harvey Weinstein kicked out of motion picture academy

Speaking out She said that the two met at an industry party and Weinstein later requested a meeting with her inside his hotel room

MSNBC's Joy Reid blistered Fox News hosts Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity on Saturday for spending their week "in high dudgeon" about the sexual improprieties of Hollywood mogul and Democratic donor Harvey Weinstein while ignoring their own network's lurid history of sexual harassment and bullying.

Defense attorney Charles Harder is exiting Weinstein's legal team as more allegations of sexual assault and harassment against Weinstein continue to surface, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The 54-member board of governors chose to have the emergency meeting on Saturday after The New York Times' blistering exposé on October 5 claimed that the producer had paid off several women after allegations of sexual harassment.

She spoke out as an ex-Weinstein employee broke a 25-year silence to claim he raped her at his offices in Fulham, west London.

The Metropolitan Police said it was passed an allegation of sexual assault by Merseyside Police the same day. That woman alleges the man assaulted her in London in 2010, 2011 and 2015.

For Weinstein, who made a name for himself and his studio with the critical and commercial success of a number of small-budget independent films, the expulsion was just the latest fallout - both professional and personal - from allegations that have rocked an industry that has often looked the other way when confronted by reports of sexual misconduct. She had been cast in a leading role in the sci-fi film "Krull".

They met for lunch over the following years and she became friends with the man she described as a "career-changing kingmaker".

She told the Times that he grabbed her one night in the late 1980s at a home he had rented in the upscale London district of Chelsea, where she had met him for a drink.

"He was a so-called friend I'd known for years and the clumsy fumble was the last thing I saw coming", she said. I blamed it on myself because I was exhausted, a bit drunk and therefore so completely off my guard.

"I was in my dressing gown and I answered the door to find Harvey standing there", she said. He was trying to kiss me and shove inside me.

She tried to fight him off but he was too heavy, she said. At least I was able to stop him kissing me.

"Finally I just gave up".

"It was pathetic, revolting", she was quoted as saying in a Thursday interview.

Ms Anthony, now starring in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, waived her right to anonymity and described her alleged ordeal in an interview with her friend, the documentary maker Charlotte Metcalf. "I remember lying in the bath later crying".

The film mogul's spokesman said: "Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr Weinstein".
