Jacksonville Jaguars upset Pittsburgh Steelers 31-9

Week 5 Running Back Rankings

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin wasn't in the mood for sugar-coating anything after an embarrassing 30-9 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Their four defensive touchdowns so far are tied for the most in the league through five games of a season, dating back to the 2000 season.

Big Ben and Brown know they need each other, as they will go down as the best pass-and-catch combination in Steelers history.

Like Criag's family in the movie Friday, this Jaguars team never has shit that matches.

The Steelers and Jaguars have faced off 23 times since 1995. The turnover led to the Jaguars' first scoring drive of the game and swung momentum heavily in Jacksonville's favor for the rest of the first half.

Jacksonville started the fourth quarter on its own 4, yet allowed Leonard Fournette to break runs of 13 and 12 yards and Chris Ivory to bounce outside for a 19-yard gain to the Steelers' 28.

Blake Bortles passed for only 95 yards, but the Jaguars rushed for 231 yards.

With 1:33 remaining in the first quarter, Ramsey intercepted a pass from Roethlisberger, which was intended for tight end Vance McDonald. Sixty-seven yards. More than eight minutes. But that means the Steelers have to stop Fournette. Bell accounted for 186 yards from scrimmage in the Steelers' win in Baltimore.

Following the Fournette run, the Jaguars were in the red zone. But in Week 2 the Titans were good for 390 yards, including 179 yards on the ground, and the Jets bettered those numbers on Sunday: 471 total yards and 256 rushing yards.

Roethlisberger attempted 55 passes against the top-ranked pass defense, who were also allowing the second-fewest yards per pass attempt. That might continue this week when either Ramsey or Buoye is glued to him.

Will last week's dust up carry over into today's game? Week five Pittsburgh Steelers what to watch for looks at how they may attack the young Jags. Watt and Ryan Shazier, there those opportunities will be limited. Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee are decent possession receivers, but aren't true deep threats. The two plays were the catalysts for the win. This makes an already hard job even more so for the Jaguars. Doug Marrone has a job ahead of him. That said, the Jaguars responded to a 37-16 thumping at the hands of the Tennessee Titans in Week 2 with a 44-7 drubbing of Baltimore the following week, so perhaps that trend is abating. It's only a matter of time before his time runs out as the starting QB of this team.
