Joint university of D-8 member countries to appear in Iran - Erdogan

Ankara swiftly retaliated by suspending its own visa services in the United States.

Turkish Education Minister Ismet Yilmaz made the call on Thursday at the Turkey-Africa Education Ministries Conference in Istanbul.

The Turkey-U.S. visa row was sparked on October 8, when the U.S. Embassy in Ankara announced the suspension of non-immigrant visa services to Turkish nationals, following the arrest of a local employee at the U.S. Consulate in Istanbul, prompting a tit-for-tat response from Ankara.

Turkey's Presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said on Wednesday the talks with the United States over a diplomatic row were now moving in a "good direction". Turkey retaliated by halting visa services in the US for Americans. Washington has rejected Ankara's allegations.

Turkey says it will not submit to impositions from the United States over an on-going visa crisis and will reject any conditions it can not meet.

The US delegation has asked Ankara for information and evidence regarding the detained staff, private broadcaster Haberturk reported.

Two US consulate employees have been caught up in the latest round of arrests.

"There are schools linked to this terrorist organisation in Africa".

The Turkish authorities accuse FETO, supporters of cleric Fethullah Gulen, of involvement in the 2016 foiled coup.

The putsch attempt killed 250 people and left almost 2,200 injured.

"If they have evidence, by all means do provide it", she added.

On Tuesday, the Turkish parliament approved a three-month extension to a state of emergency that has been in place since July 20 a year ago.
