After the storm: Who got the most snow?

Heavy snow finally reaching southeast Nebraska weather advisory extended to 10 p.m

The region and nearly the entire Upper Peninsula are under a winter storm warning into Tuesday morning as a major system takes aim.

The strong winter storm that hit Nebraska Sunday into Monday dropped quite a bit of snow across the state.

With the upgraded status, that means Lincoln could see more snow than earlier anticipated.

The storm is expected to dump 6 to 8 inches of snow in the Iron Mountain area and more than a foot to the north, according to the National Weather Service office in Marquette.

"The transition to snow will occur from northeast Nebraska through eastern Nebraska during the morning, with snow amounts totaling more than 10" in the Norfolk area, to around 2" near and southeast of Interstate 80.

A winter storm has brought near-blizzard conditions to portions of the central Plains and Upper Midwest. The highest potential for this looks to be across northern Lower Michigan and central Wisconsin.

The storm will continue to track east, and New Yorkers and Bostonians can expect to wake up to slick conditions as the cold front chugs across the I-95 corridor through the morning hours and into the early afternoon. Travel during this time period is expected to be very risky to impossible, including during the morning commute on Monday.

Another quarter-inch of rain was possible through Monday before colder temperatures would switch the precipitation over to snow Monday night.
