Bruce McArthur charged with three additional counts of first-degree murder, police say

Bruce McArthur, the Toronto landscaper arrested and charged with the murder of two gay men near the city's gay village last week, has been charged with 1st degree murder in the deaths of three more men: Majeed Kayhan, Soroush Marmudi, and Dean Lisowisk.

Police in the Canadian city have said he has now also been charged with a further three first-degree murders - those of Majeed Kayhan, 58, and Soroush Marmudi, 50; and Dean Lisowick, 47, of no fixed address. And Lisowick was not reported missing, but they believe the man, who lived in the city's shelter system, was killed between May 2016 and July 2017.

Police wouldn't discuss whether Mahmudi had any sort of relationship with McArthur.

Speaking at a news conference, Det. But police have said little about McArthur's relationships with the other alleged victims, the Star reports.

The latest three bodies were found dismembered at the bottom of large planters in gardens that McArthur, a 66-year-old landscape gardener, had worked on.

Amid fears over the summer that police weren't taking these cases seriously, Richmond said the investigation into Kinsman's disappearance was in the process of "ramping up", and police were getting set to conduct another search of his apartment.

"They are skeletal remains and they have been dismembered so we have to wait for DNA tests", Idsinga said. Police said at the time there may be other victims.

Police are searching nearly 30 properties where McArthur worked, according to Toronto Detective Sergeant Hank Idsinga.

They also said they had received numerous tips, including from around the world, and appealed for anyone who might have information to contact them. "We believe there are more remains at some of these properties that we're working to recover".

And police believe there are more victims.

The investigation is still active and police hope to speak with any homeowners on whose properties McArthur may have worked.

When asked by reporters what sort of resources were being use din the case, he replied: "Everything that e have".

"It's very draining on all the investigators".

While Liddle said McArthur sometimes had a younger man helping him with the gardening work, police said they had no evidence anyone else was involved in any of the alleged crimes. By Monday, police said they were dealing with a serial killer unlike any Toronto had seen before. Their bodies have not been found, but authorities revealed that they had been investigating McArthur in connection to those deaths since October. Five months later, police charged McArthur with Esen's presumed death. All three of those men were in their 40s or early 50s, were Arab or East Asian, and frequented the same venues on Church Street in the village.

Police said there were common threads among a few of the victims: Middle Eastern descent and connections to the gay community, for example. "Unfortunately I can't continue with that common thread looking at Mr. Lisowick and Mr. Mahmudi", he said.

Toronto police detective Hank Idsinga said the investigation "certainly encompasses more than the gay community, it encompasses the city of Toronto".
