Arsenal's woeful North London Derby

PROLIFIC Harry Kane has scored 22 goals in 25 appearances this season

Harry Kane scored the victor in the 49th minute of the game woth a second half header to hand his side all three points from the encounter and move Spurs to third in the English Premier League table seven points clear of their bitter rivals Arsenal who are now sixth.

Any hopes Wenger had of making the top four are fading fast with 11 games remaining.

The Armenian was hooked off by Arsene Wenger just after the hour mark at Wembley and it was fully deserved following a limp showing.

But this morning, in this season's second North London Derby, Tottenham would do just enough to hold off Arsenal.

Wenger acknowledged that depressing fate is staring Arsenal in the face again following Kane's latest act of vengeance against the club that rejected him as a youngster.

Arsene Wenger's side were simply not at the races, despite the fact they defended reasonably well in the first-half, creating very few chances and showing little ability to control the tempo.

Following the disappointing loss, Arsenal are glued in the sixth place on the EPL standings with 45 points, five behind fifth-placed Chelsea who still have a game to play.

Sergio Aguero scored four goals as English Premier League leader Manchester City showed Riyad Mahrez what he was missing in a 5-1 thrashing of Leicester City.

"I'm not a big fan of the Europa League victor getting into the Champions League".

'But unfortunately we did not take them.

Harry Kane found the opening in the 27th minute after being sent through by Christian Eriksen inside the box but he could not connect well with the ball and skied his effort over the crossbar.

"In the first half we missed three or four opportunities on the counter attack which is hard to swallow, always the final ball".

'As I said before the game, it was a game which had a huge importance.

"The way they went about the game tells you everything about where they are at the minute, they are a team brimming full of confidence". He scores all different types of goals - tap-ins, cheeky chips and screamers and we've seen that today. (Our away record) is very poor. Davies was given space to left of the area to swing in an inviting cross, and Kane rose highest to power a header into the bottom-left corner.

Although Arsenal beat Tottenham 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium in November, they haven't won an away league game against their rivals since 2014.

Harry Kane struck the victor to make it a day to remember for Mauricio Pochettino's side who, at the time of writing, sit in the Premier League top four.

"Of course Harry is one of the best in the world".
