Fennville teen makes it to Space X launch

Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, is busy in preparing a new space drone ship that will enhance the rocket recovering capacity of SpaceX.

In preparation for the second season of MARS, which is returning to Nat Geo this fall, a camera crew followed Musk and his team on the day of the launch, capturing their reactions as the rocket rumbled to life. Those drone ships are called "Of Course I Still Love You" and "Just Read The Instructions". However, the rocket also carried something else, and while SpaceX's secret Falcon Heavy payload may not have generated the same headlines as the Roadster, it could have even bigger implications for humanity's future in space.

The need for a third drone ship has arisen because of the increasing number of launches SpaceX is managing for NASA and other contractors. All three of these ships are named after spacecraft featured in Iain M. Banks' series of "Culture" novels. "Its objective: "[To] support high flight rates for Falcon 9 and dual ocean landings for Falcon Heavy boosters". "Fix is pretty obvious".

Musk claimed that Ellison's numbers were based on flawed underlying data and that even if they weren't, the Falcon Heavy cost substantially less than the competition. "A Shortfall of Gravitas" will be deployed in the Atlantic.

Of Course I Still Love You was scheduled to recover the third Falcon booster from last week's Falcon Heavy launch, but the booster missed its mark by about 300 feet crashing into the ocean at speeds exceeding 300 miles per hour.

Once A Shortfall of Gravitas joins Of Course I Still Love You, SpaceX can handle increased launch operations efficiently and can also land as many boosters as possible so as to make rocket launch cheaper.

In the meantime, SpaceX still has a full slate of Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launches on tap in 2018. Several minutes after liftoff, they split off from the core and made their way back down to Cape Canaveral.

When the most powerful rocket ever developed by a private company thundered off its Cape Canaveral launch pad last week, it announced a new era in space exploration and exploitation.
