An announcement on Ozil signing the new contract is expected imminently, meanwhile, Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat at the hands of Swansea when they take on Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The Belgian is also after regular football to make sure of his place in Belgium's World Cup squad, telling the Dortmund website: "In order to achieve my big goal, I want to play as much as possible and score many goals. Once a Gunner, always a Gunner!"
