Pistons' Drummond to replace injured Wall in All Star Game

Wizards point guard John Wall is out for six weeks

Wall, an All-Star for the fifth consecutive year, will miss the NBA All-Star Game because of a left knee injury. The chosen player will then play for Team Lebron in the all-star game.

The Wizards' John Wall won't be able to play now that he's having a knee procedure, so National Basketball Association commissioner Adam Silver announced that Andre Drummond will take his place on Team LeBron.

According to National Basketball Association rules, when an All-Star is unable to participate, the commissioner shall choose a replacement from the same conference as the player who is being replaced. Drummond is averaging 14.8 points and and leads the National Basketball Association at 15.3 rebounds per game.

Coaches still will always play favorite to those on teams with more success and sitting outside of the Eastern Conference playoff race certainly hurt Drummond's chances.

In fact, nobody was surprised to see Embiid named a starter when looking at how dominant he's been at times this season, let alone how popular he's been to fans outside of Philadelphia thanks to his fun trash talking.

To say Andre Drummond wasn't happy to be an All-Star snub is an understatement. His team now sits in the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference at 29-21.

Simmons and Brown did not provide any context to their tweets, so we can't know for sure they were in reference to Drummond being named an All-Star over them.

Among those players is Simmons of the 76ers who is putting up 16.6 points, 7.3 assists and 7.9 rebounds per game in his rookie season.

The Heat's only All-Star selections over the franchise's 30 seasons remain Mourning (five selections with the Heat), Tim Hardaway (two), Anthony Mason (one), Shaquille O'Neal (three), James (four), Bosh (six) and Wade (12).

Dragic, 31, has never been an All-Star in his 10-year career.
