Bould provides update on injured Arsenal duo Wilshere & Lacazette

Arsene Wenger

Arsenal assistant manager Steve Bould replaced unwell Gunners boss Arsene Wenger who opted to skip out a pre-match press conference ahead of their Premier League fixture against Stoke.

With speculation about Wenger's future continuing to swirl amid a disappointing season, Bould insisted that his boss is still "doing a great job" and hasn't lost any of his passion for wining.

"I love the man - there are no issues", said Bould.

"I admire him immensely", the former defender, a Premier League title-winner under Wenger in 1997-98, said. He takes unbelievable stick off an terrible lot of people. It's a pleasure for me to sit next to him.

Speaking on The Debate on Thursday evening, Silva said: "I worked with Wenger for such a long time. He's done a great job for an very bad long time".

"We're concentrating on Sunday".

Alexandre Lacazette

"To be honest, this season has been more disappointing for us because we had bigger targets", he added to Arsenal Player.

Arsenal's chances of top-four qualification rapidly continue to fade after a poor start to 2018, which saw them lose five of their opening nine league games.

"We're not stupid. You never know".

Wenger took charge of Arsenal in 1996 and has led the club to three league titles and seven FA Cup triumphs but has failed to win in Europe. If we are going to win a Europa League final, to win games now is better for us.

"Secondly, he was in an adaptation period where I felt that, without any objective measurement, that sometimes he struggled a bit more in the second part of the game, especially in the last 20 minutes, to create the movement he can. And what happens in the end is what happens".

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has been cleared fit to face Stoke City after missing England's recent friendly matches against the Netherlands and Italy.
