HBO Execs Tease Multiple Deaths in 'Game of Thrones' Final Season

The HBO hit series'Game of Thrones won Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series

HBO is planning to give big budgets to the upcoming spinoffs for Game of Thrones.

As Deadline reported earlier, speaking at the Keshet-organized conference INTV in Jerusalem, Orsi admitted that HBO had been in a tough situation after the Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman-fronted limited series drama was picked up for a second season.

The salary demands behind Big Little Lies ' all-star cast have reportedly never been higher, according to an HBO executive, leaving an uncertain future for other major shows produced by the network. While Game of Thrones Season 8 will only have six episodes, each will be longer, feature-length affairs, like the 80 minute season seven finale. "We are going big".

"It was a really powerful moment in our lives and our careers", Orsi shared.

"None of the cast had received the scripts prior and one by one they started falling down to their deaths", she then added, seemingly dropping a bombshell that some very notable characters will meet their fate, as reported by The Daily Mail.

She added that everyone stood for over 15 minutes and applauded-"It was fantastic". HBO has up to five Game of Thrones spin-off planned that it hopes to greenlight, as soon as the network figure out how to budget for them. Orsi promised that the final season will not disappoint.

It looks like Game of Thrones fans should prepare for a bloody final season. "That's why it spawned three, four, five spinoffs", addding that "we're going big". Well, that's something Orsi would not say, and that's obviously a crucial detail. However, while all of the above have broken the Iron Bank when it comes to spending, they are arguably some of the show's most memorable outings, and have made Game of Thrones the sensation that it is today.

While the series will end with a six-episode season, HBO hopes to continue the magic with multiple spinoffs now in development.
