Jeff Hornacek fired by New York Knicks after 2 seasons

After another bad season, and a 60-104 record over the last two seasons, the New York Knicks followed through and fired head coach Jeff Hornacek Wednesday night.

The Knicks have reportedly cut ties with head coach Jeff Hornacek.

Jackson has been out of the league since he was sacked by the Golden State Warriors in 2014.

"Jeff is a positive person and I think he was hopeful that there would be another opportunity, but he's a pro, " Mills said. Jackson, who was the president, has since departed for his Montana home, Anthony was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder and now Hornacek is leaving too, after the Knicks announced early on Thursday morning (April 12) that they had fired him. However, this isn't the first time he has been raised as a National Basketball Association coach.

Hornacek's reign in NY ended after two 50-loss seasons, despite one year remaining on his contract. "All we can ask is for fans to look at the plan we laid out a year ago and we are going to be consistent with (it)".

At 42, he does not have a heap of coaching experience, but Stackhouse has gained traction as an up-and-coming coach based on his performance as an assistant with Toronto and as the head coach of Toronto's G-League team. They lost more than 50 games and missed the playoffs both seasons under Hornacek.

The New York Knicks will be looking for different answers next season. As much as it continues to be frustrating that the Knicks can't have a head coach last long, you have to move on. He led the Memphis Grizzlies to the playoffs in his first season as head coach but was sacked 19 games into the 2017-18 season amid a clash with Marc Gasol and an eight-game losing streak.

The fact that Blatt didn't get the full backing of his players in Cleveland could be cause for concern, but that was a team of hard-headed veterans. Because New York doesn't have a collection of super talented players, investing in motion and player movement would make things easier on the offensive end.

The New York Knicks plan on reaching out to Villanova's Jay Wright about the team's new head coaching vacancy, according to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News. I just love going to work every day.

I mean, he'd have to be at least a little bright, given the run he's now on as head coach of the Villanova Wildcats men's basketball team. They spoke about finding a coach who can relate to "today's players" and fully grasp analytics and development and the way the game has changed. "Knicks brass evidently did not agree, as Hornacek, who was hired by Mills and Phil Jackson in the summer of 2016, helmed the team to his second straight disappointing season".
