Paul Pogba determined to stay at Manchester United

Pogba was taken off by manager Jose Mourinho in the 58th minute of the West Brom game

Manchester United's French midfielder Paul Pogba warms up ahead of the UEFA Champions League Group A football match between Manchester United and Basel at Old Trafford in Manchester, north west England on September 12, 2017.

Mourinho's men defeated Manchester City just last week by securing an insane comeback win but lost to West Brom on Sunday to leave supporters with mixed feelings. The Blues still have five games to play this season, including three at home; against Swansea on Sunday, Huddersfield and Brighton on May 9. They next visit Bournemouth on Wednesday before facing Spurs at Wembley.

"Rotating is not the right word - if I play a player against Bournemouth and the player is phenomenal, he plays the semi-final", Mourinho said, as quoted by the Daily Telegraph.

United will definitely be hurting following their shock loss to West Brom but will have little time to recover from it and will need to move on quickly. "They don't have a place in that team".

So which players will Mourinho be most delighted with after tonight's display? "I met players 30-years-old, not consistent at all, and I found boys of 18, 19, 20, real men, real pros, so it's not about the age".

"Or do you want me to go for the price they cost, or their salary, or their handsome face? The only way is to go with performance".

"And he had a yellow card, so he was in a more hard position than others".

Paul Pogba does start despite concerns that he would be another absentee, while the majority of the big players left out have been named on the substitutes' bench should they be needed over the course of the 90 minutes.
