Sudarsan Pattnaik's Stunning Sand Art Has An Important Earth Day Message

'Rapid increase in plastic pollution ruining wildlife, marine ecology in Pakistan'

Earth Day is a global movement that started 48 years ago when millions of protestors took to the streets to bring to light the negative effects of the industrial revolution. From its initial successes, the network has grown to unite 50,000 partners in 192 countries, and now engages an estimated one billion people around the world. The book was sold in large numbers and it was after reading the book that people became aware about the environment.

"It is a day of political action and civic participation". Earth Day is believed to be the biggest imperial universe occurrence. The person for organising the event, blamed is US Senator Gaylord Nelson. Events had been organised and people came out to reaffirm their service protecting the environment. The globally acclaimed artist has made a 3D sand art on the Puri beach in Odisha. He is not the only person to lend his voice to the cause of Earth Day and plastic pollution.

This year's Earth Day event will focus on ending plastic pollution, which include "ending single-use plastics, promoting alternatives to fossil fuel-based materials, promoting 100 percent recycling of plastics, corporate and government accountability and changing human behavior concerning plastics". "Earth Day 2018 is dedicated to providing the information and inspiration needed to fundamentally change human attitude and behaviour about plastics", according to Earth Day Network. In July of the same year, they created the Environmental Protection Agency, and robust environmental laws such as the Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act, among many. Take our quiz to find out and learn how you can help reduce the amount of plastic litter in our oceans.
