Trump, en route to golf club, predicts Michael Cohen won't 'flip'

President Donald Trump on Saturday railed against "third rate" New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, blasting the media and "horrible" investigators over their treatment of Michael Cohen - his longtime lawyer.

"Most people will flip if the Government lets them out of trouble, even if it means lying or making up stories", Trump tweeted.

"Sorry, I don't see Michael doing that despite the awful Witch Hunt and the dishonest media!" he concluded. The court proceedings Monday dealt with who gets to look at Cohen's seized documents and devices before they are turned over to prosecutors.

The president has dubbed recent raids on Cohen's office, home and hotel room a "disgrace" and "attack on our country." "The person replied, 'He's abusive to everybody'".

"I think we are going to get an opportunity to depose Michael Cohen and the president within the next 60 to 90 days and".

The agents were seeking any information on payments made to Daniels and a former Playboy model, Karen McDougal, according to people familiar with the investigation but not authorized to discuss it publicly.

Cohen, who has been Mr. Trump's personal attorney for years, has been privy to some of the most sensitive dealings of Mr. Trump's presidency and time as a businessman.

Haberman was part of a team at The New York Times that shared the National Reporting Pulitzer Prize with The Washington Post last week for it stories about Russian interference in the 2016 election and its connections to the Trump campaign, transition team and administration.

On Friday, the Times reported that Trump's attorneys and advisers are "resigned" to the possibility that Cohen will cooperate, as he has a wife and two children and faces huge legal fees and possiblity criminal charges.

He added, the newspaper is using non-existent sources and a reporter, which he called a drunk or drugged up loser who hates Cohen.

Mr. Trump deleted his first series of tweets about Haberman after misspelling her name, something she and the paper pointed out on Twitter.

Saturday brought the latest tweet storm from President Donald Trump, which presumably happened en route to Mar-a-Lagoor some other golf course.

The article quotes Sam Nunberg, a former aide to Trump who worked with Cohen, and most recently went on a freakish media blitz in which he insisted he would defy subpoena from special counsel Robert Mueller.

"When anybody is faced with spending a long time in jail, they start to re-evaluate their priorities, and cooperation can't be ruled out", a Trump ally who knows Cohen told the web site.
