Bill Cosby's wife slams prosecutor for husband's guilty verdict

Camille Cosby Says That Bill Cosby Is Innocent And A Victim After Sexual Assault Conviction

The wife of Bill Cosby today slammed as "mob justice" her husband's conviction by a USA jury of sexual assault, attacking the media, prosecutors and his accuser in a tirade-laden statement.

A Facebook post by an angry Camille Cosby says Bill Cosby conviction is the result of 'exploitive and corrupt people'.

Yet on Thursday, Camille Cosby's blistering statement had a lot to say, unleashing venom in particular at Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele, whose office twice prosecuted Cosby for sexually assaulting Constand in 2004 at the entertainer's mansion in Cheltenham, Pa.

Constand was one of more than 50 women who have accused Cosby of sexually assaulting them.

Camille is now calling for a criminal investigation into the handling of her husband's case - and specifically into the prosecutor behind Bill's conviction. Steel is the man on the receiving end of most of Camille's fury in the post, and he is also the man responsible for Bill Cosby's conviction.

In fact, she compared him to an actual victim of a lynch mob, Emmet Till, the black teenager who was lynched in 1955 after a white woman falsely claimed he was flirting with her.

Her almost 800-word statement likened her husband's ordeal to the racially charged killing of Emmett Till and called the accusations and ensuing conviction "mob justice, not real justice".

"Once again, an innocent person has been found guilty based on an unthinking, unquestioning, unconstitutional frenzy propagated by the media and allowed to play out in a supposed court of law", she said.

Bill Cosby was found guilty last week of assaulting Andrea Constand, the only woman among dozens of accusers to bring criminal charges against the disgraced comedian.

" Without naming her, she accused Constand of lying, and branded her testimony "unsupported by any evidence and riddled with innumerable, dishonest contradictions".

Camille Cosby has been his rock for over five decades, but it remains to be seen how she will respond when he begins serving time. She argued that her husband's conviction was the result of "exploitive and corrupt" politics after Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele advocated for the comedian's conviction, and she said that Steele and his team's "primary goal is to advance themselves professionally and economically at the expense of Mr. Cosby's life".

I am publicly asking for a criminal investigation of that district attorney and his cohorts.

Cosby's lawyers said they would appeal the verdict.

Bill Cosby wife Camille Cosby has finally broken her silence following his guilty verdict.

"There is nothing else that needs to be said".
