It will then be made available in 14 other countries, including the UK.

YouTube Music will come with extra features like personalised playlists based on individual's YouTube history and other usage patterns.

To extend the features of YouTube Music Premium beyond the music app, we're soon introducing YouTube Premium, the new name for our YouTube Red subscription service.

Much like YouTube Red, Premium will give you access to all of YouTube's Originals including fortcoming releases like Impulse and Liza Koshy's Liza on Demand. YouTube Premium will still offer ad-free YouTube and access to original content.

YouTube wants to charge $2 more for its premium services.

We say this because YouTube has announced two new products that will replace YouTube Red.

YouTube is the #1 way most people listen to music on the internet, via musc videos, but most people are doing that for free. For example at the gym, YouTube Music will suggest some beats to set the right mood for the workout, while at the airport, it would recommend something relaxing.

With streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal now dominating the market, YouTube Music comes in to offer access to its catalog of remixes, live performances, covers and music videos that aren't available elsewhere. The paid tier will be called YouTube Music Premium and start for $9.99 per month.

Google Play and YouTube Red reportedly have a total of 7 million subscribers.

- Ad-free, background play, and downloads across YouTube.

Thousands of playlists built to help you discover new music.

That's right, the new streaming channel is less than a week away, but there's a catch - it is only available at launch in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Korea.

Those who pay $7.99 today - as a result of being grandfathered in from a past service - will get to retain that pricing going forward and get access to YouTube Premium.
