I'm not done yet! - Durant display not his 'defining moment'

Cavaliers center Kendrick Perkins

The two MVPs played 21 times in that span, and it was a lovely matchup. Durant, for his part, could be well on his way to adding another Finals MVP trophy, as he's averaged team bests of 31.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game through three games. They must play better, on both ends of the floor, than they did in Games 1 and 2.

Perkins and Durant, however, go way back, as the two were former Oklahoma City Thunder teammates, so the former could certainly afford to speak like that about Durant without being misconstrued as someone who's trying to vilify the former league MVP.

He's doing so again in The Finals against the Warriors, almost triple-doubling in every game while trying to give his Cleveland Cavaliers a fighting chance in this series, who are now faced with a 3-0 deficit and at the brink of elimination. They come off a pick-and-roll and he just stopped behind and pulled four or five feet behind the 3-point line.

Wednesday was the 103rd consecutive game the 33-year-old James has played between the regular season and playoffs combined, without taking a game off because of rest or injury. This is the third time Durant and James have faced off in the Finals, each earning 4-1 series wins over the other.

They're still peers in every sense.

The Golden State Warriors can win their third championship in the last four years with a victory here. His decision looks more prudent by the hour.

"No, that wasn't the same shot", James said when asked to compare Durant's 3 to last year's.

"... It's not like you would think that he would fizzle out".

The Warriors became the first team in history to take a 3-0 lead in back-to-back Finals.

"There it is. Kevin Durant was my answer. That's just who I am". Maybe not even their worst one.

Including Wednesday, James has 6,888 career playoff points. As it turns out, one member of the Cavs actually did just that.

"It was good just having him, settling the game down", guard Shaun Livingston said.

"I thought we would have to face him for a while", James said.

"That wasn't the same shot", James told reporters in Cleveland.

Durant, though, is in the process of replacing Pierce.

Instead, Cleveland is only left to wonder if James is a game from leaving. Some of them they've applied in this series, and some they might have to apply in the future.

LeBron James will dunk on you, whether you like it or not. "You gotta do what makes you happy".

Durant hasn't just been helping out on the court though.

Durant hardly seemed fazed afterward.
