Here's Every Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080, 2070 Card That We Know About

Here's Every Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080, 2070 Card That We Know About

Below you will find a video showing the Infiltrator tech demo running on a GTX1080Ti (do note that SLI is not working in this video so only the one GPU was being used, and that the tech demo NVIDIA showcased was running at higher settings than those featured below). The former will be priced at from $999, while the latter is priced from $699.

NVIDIA's second RTX graphics card is the GeForce RTX 2080 that is knocked down to 2944 CUDA cores, 8GB of GDDR6 but a lower price of $799.

The 2080 Ti will be offered in two varieties, with a Founders Edition and a standard edition.

Pre-orders are live for both the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti at retailers like Nvidia's website and Amazon.

So those are the cards, which usher in what looks to be quite a hike in performance over the 10-series GeForce cards.

Previously, ray tracing - which is often referred to as the "holy grail" of graphics - was so computationally intense that most games relied on less accurate statistical light models to create the shadows and reflections see in a graphics.

Turing is NVIDIA's brand new, eight-generation architecture that succeeds Pascal.

That led us to speculate how well the next-gen GeForce cards will be able to render ray-tracing. For reference, the RTX 2070 is said to outperform a Titan Xp, although precisely how this is measured wasn't made clear and should absolutely be treated with caution given the metric fiddling going on. It was here that the manufacturer introduced GeForce RTX, next-generation hardware that promises up to six times faster performance than previous generation video cards. The company's new Turing architecture, however, can automatically simulate the light rays in real time. Upcoming games with ray tracing include Battlefield V, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Metro Exodus, Control, Assetto Corsa Competizione and more. But if they do deliver the performance Nvidia is promising, and Huang tends to now exaggerate too much, then we could be looking at a serious generational jump in the world of graphics.
