'No chance' Willian would have stayed at Chelsea under Conte

Conte was adamant that his matchday squad should meet up the night before home games and stay at the Chelsea Harbour hotel but not everyone was happy about that rule.

The new Chelsea manager has abandoned the practice of the squad staying together at the Chelsea Harbour hotel on nights before they have an evening game at Stamford Bridge the following day, a measure that was introduced by Conte and was unpopular with numerous players.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Chelsea got their 2018-19 premier League campaign off to a winning start after beating Huddersfield 3-0 at the John Smith's Stadium. "I will only leave if Chelsea want me to go".

When asked if he would be at Chelsea with Conte still in charge, he said: "No chance. No".

Rumours of Conte's sacking hung over the club all summer and, despite returning to take the start of pre-season training, the man who delivered the Premier League title in 2017 was soon replaced by Maurizio Sarri.

Willian was not satisfied regarding Antonio Conte's coaching.

"This is what we do in Brazil and are trying to do here, playing with skill and movement and the manager told us to do that".

The report claims that Sarri has recognised the large squad he has at his disposal, and while he is looking to trim his list of players, he wants to make the atmosphere at the club as relaxed as possible as to not ostracise those left on the periphery.

"I don't think he's a good defensive player, I don't think he's a good player in that holding midfield role".

Key changes needed to be made by Sarri in order to get Chelsea players on his side, and it seems he is doing his best to make sure that happens. "Now we have a different style, that's why we can create problems for Arsenal", Willian added. This is what we will try to do this season.
