But any cooperation from Cohen could help him during sentencing. Cohen's sentencing is scheduled for December 12, with bail set at $500,0000.

Davis said Cohen "would be able to provide information useful to the special counsel" but didn't elaborate on what that information may be.

Federal agents had seized documents and files from Cohen in April that stemmed from a referral from Mueller's office.
