Kavanaugh denies accusations from third accuser, saying they're from 'Twilight Zone'

Protesters gather on Capitol Hill at the office of GOP Sen. Susan Collins of Maine to protest the nomination of Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh

US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is now facing several allegations of sexual misconduct from the 1980s - all of which he denies.

Judiciary Committee Republicans say they are now reviewing Swetnick's allegations.

Mark Wilson/Getty ImagesSupreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh says the sexual assault allegations he faces are "last-minute smears".

The accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, alleges that Kavanaugh assaulted her in the summer of 1982 in Maryland, where they both went to high school at the same time.

Kavanaugh rejected the latest claim Wednesday in a statement released by the White House, saying, "I don't know who this is and this never happened".

Avenatti, who has risen to prominence representing Stormy Daniels in her legal battles with President Trump, posted the affidavit to Twitter, demanding an FBI investigation. None of them were present the night of the alleged assault and do not have first-hand knowledge of the incident, but they all say they were aware of it before Kavanaugh's nomination was announced and Ford's story became public.

The Senate Judiciary Committee said Wednesday it is reviewing new allegations after attorney Michael Avenatti provided a statement from his client to the committee. Since Blasey Ford first accused him of assaulting her at a high school party, some 75 women have rushed to his side to defend his character. Senate Democrats have called for Judge to testify, but he has said he has no knowledge of the incident and does not wish to speak publicly on the matter.

She also claims he was verbally abusive toward women and that Judge, Kavanaugh, and others would spike drinks at these parties in order to cause women to "lose their inhibitions".

Two affidavits, from Ford's husband Russell Ford and from the coach of their son's baseball team, say Ford named Kavanaugh as the alleged assailant.

Attorney Avenatti tweeted a sworn testimony from the third accuser Swetnick.

Kavanaugh, 53, was on the verge of being confirmed to the ninth and most important seat on the equally divided Supreme Court when Ford's accusation came to light almost two weeks ago.

"This morning Michael Avenatti provided a declaration to the Judiciary Committee".

Kavanaugh and the other three named people: Mark Judge, Patrick Smyth, and Leland Keyser, have all given personal testimony.

Republicans hold a 51-49 advantage in the Senate and can't afford more than one defection to ensure confirmation without Democratic support.
