Big Google Pixel 3 camera bug set to be squashed soon

Google's forums lit up earlier this week with news of the bug with users reporting that photos were being lost "multiple times".

As you would expect, with Android phones, especially the high-end stuff, you get a fast charger in the box, right?

This year's iteration packs in a better looking body with matte finish, refreshed colours (just black, clearly white and not pink) and a big notch which many people have deemed "ugly". It does make sense from a design standpoint, but when you are trying to quickly switch to a specific mode, it does add in an extra step.

Google also introduced a range of AI features to better enhance photos. This model came at a time where Android and iPhone users have set their bar between 6GB and 8GB. Google's Pixel 3 launch was possibly one of the most heavily leaked launches in industry history, with virtually all of the specifications of the device unveiled before the event began.

If you're considering getting one of Google's new Pixel 3 devices, beware.

Close-up images taken in normal mode had a natural, shallow depth-of-field, so we didn't feel the need to switch to the Portrait mode often.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, the successors to the Pixel 2, have albeit leaked entirely, but there's still plenty that remains under wraps.

It also boasts a Night Sight mode for improved shots in low-light situations. And the result? When docked, the Pixel Stand transforms a Pixel 3 into a mini smart speaker plus Home Hub, with the potential to be even more in the future. For some unknown reason the smartphone doesn't save all the photos that it snaps and as you can probably tell, this is a serious issue. The secret behind Google's success has been its efficient use of Artificial Intelligence.

To start, Google took a 10-watt wireless charging stand (which is a bit faster than most wireless chargers) and then it did what Google does best: programmed in a bunch of neat software tricks. Now let go of the power button and tap on Screenshot and a screenshot of the page you're on will be taken and saved to your photos app/Gallery. You can set it to only pull images from specific albums (in case you're anxious about privacy) and it will even vary between single shots and a tw0-shot layout that makes the best of the phone's real estate. Another thing that stands out is its lack of a front-facing camera, which I believe is Google's way of acknowledging the privacy concerns around these devices.

The new update to the Pixels devices will bring the features like long-press on the screen to launch the Google lens directly without having to go to the application and open it. You just, kind of just use it. One thing missing from the event was any sort of update to the Pixel buds, which I bought a year ago and returned out of disappointment. But it should be coming in the next few days. Different evidence has been offered up in the past to support that theory, but the best evidence yet may have just presented itself in the form of a new speed test. YouTube channel "PhoneBuff" is one of many that produce real-world speed tests that look to show how two phones compare when it comes to speed during regular usage. You know what Anker's new fast charging stand costs? $30.
