Saudi Crown Prince Departs Bahrain

US President Donald Trump said last week Washington would remain a "steadfast partner" of Saudi Arabia despite saying that Prince Mohammed may have known about the plan to murder Khashoggi.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa opened a new oil pipeline between the two countries on Monday, the Saudi Press agency said. Bob Menendez are working on to sanction the Crown Prince.

The Tunis protests were accompanied by statements from the Tunisian journalists' union and a dozen non-governmental organisations decrying Prince Mohammed's visit as an "attack on the principles" of the Arab spring that bought democracy and freedom of expression to Tunisia.

Bahrain was the second stop in Crown Prince Mohammed's Arab tour, which he kicked off Thursday by visiting the United Arab Emirates.

I disagree with the president's assessment.

A frequent contributor to The Washington Post, Khashoggi went missing on October 2 after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.), a vocal critic of the president, blasted the bombshell statement Trump issued last week in defense of Saudi Arabia, calling it "very weak".

After initially denying knowledge of the journalist's whereabouts, the Saudi authorities later admitted that Khashoggi had in fact been killed inside the consulate, albeit by rogue Saudi agents.

Khashoggi's murder also put a spotlight into Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen, with U.S. lawmakers pushing the Trump administration to stop its support for the Kingdom as a punishment for the killing.

Erdogan and Prince Mohammed will attend the G20 meeting in Argentina later this week.

The US Central Intelligence Agency has concluded the crown prince was behind the killing.

After an overnight stay in the Egyptian capital, he is expected to end his regional tour in Tunisia on Tuesday. The organization says "many of these attacks ... indicate possible war crimes".

But many Tunisians are angry over the killing and suspicions of the prince's involvement.

If reports about the CIA's intelligence are true, the SC senator said "everything would be on the table" for punishment-including the end to President Donald Trump's acclaimed arms deal-as "we can not have a normal strategic relationship with somebody this insane".

In an interview with Sputnik, Saudi energy expert Said al-Shahrani said that "the decision to build a nuclear power plant in the kingdom is the result of serious research that confirmed the need for this step".
