Fans are outraged Redskins cut D.J. Swearinger after he criticized team

Packers should pursue free safety D.J. Swearinger

"Well, I think if you read the articles, I think those aren't constructive", Gruden said. "I don't expect everybody to be happy about it".

Now that he's no longer with the club, Swearinger isn't holding back. He was signed to the Cards' practice squad on December 2, 2015, and a week later was promoted to the active roster.

The Panthers should definitely put in a claim for Swearinger, who has posted 14 interceptions and 39 passes defensed in 90 career National Football League games. He's also a Pro Bowl level talent, which is something the Kansas City Chiefs are lacking in their secondary.

Still, Swearinger felt the need to outline exactly why he was unhappy with Manusky's concepts.

Swearinger said he needs to control himself better when he gets emotional after games.

After Washington lost to Tennessee on Saturday, Swearinger went in on Manusky's coaching scheme, saying, "I probably watch more film than the coaches".

Cardinals coach Steve Wilks, who didn't know Swearinger personally before Arizona claimed him, said he's been impressed with his play and his energy from afar.

"We ain't executing. We ain't getting the job done".

The Cardinals placed rookie offensive lineman Korey Cunningham (foot) on injured reserve and released safety Fish Smithson from the practice squad in corresponding moves.

"I don't stand in front of you guys and throw coaches or players underneath the bus, but best believe it gets addressed and he would understand the same thing", Wilks said. "That's where the frustration comes in at, when we don't win".
