Trump Says Mueller Report Should Be Made Public

President Donald Trump delivers remarks at the Lima Army Tank Plant Wednesday

Mueller has been investigating claims that Russian Federation meddled in the 2016 U.S. presidential election for months, as well as allegations of collusion between Trump's campaign team and Moscow.

House Judiciary Committee member Louie Gohmert said Wednesday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller's final conclusion should be viewed as a "dossier", not a "report", questioning how the investigation has been conducted from the start. "It also might be a letter that Mr. Meadows and I sent to Attorney General Barr just 19 days ago".

As is typical, Trump also misstates the Electoral College vote. The collusion allegations remain unsubstantiated.

The House last week voted overwhelmingly to release Mueller's report in its entirety once it is completed, but the resolution was blocked by Sen. Former-Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker said in on January 28 he thought the probe is "close to being completed".

"Because if Mr. Trump were removed from office by Congress, a significant portion of this country would see this as a coup, and it would drive those people farther from the common center of American life, more deeply fracturing our country".

Trump emphasized the unusual circumstances of Mueller's appointment.

One scenario would have seemed downright implausible until recently: The president will take the findings and run on them, rather than against them, by painting the special counsel as an example of failed government overreach and Trump himself as the victim who managed to prove his innocence. In recent public remarks, the outgoing Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein cast doubt on the need for transparency.

Trump on Wednesday referred to Rosenstein as "a deputy" who was "appointed", and who then "appoint [ed] another man to write a report". I just won an election with 63 million votes or so. "I'm not rooting for anything at all, except that the special counsel be permitted to finish his work, charge whatever cases warrant charging and report on his work". A senior White House official told CNN earlier this month that the White House has, however, mulled the possibility of responding to the report with a statement from the President or White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, depending on the outcome.

Trump has repeatedly railed against Mueller's probe.

Trump, for his part, said he had no idea when the report would be released, but maintained his innocence, saying there was "no collusion" and "no obstruction". At least 13 are registered Democrats, according to The Daily Caller.

He drew criticism from both Democrats and Republicans for his role in investigating former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's emails during her 2016 presidential run. It contains the findings of Robert Mueller and his team who probed the case for nearly two years. She was also Strzok's mistress.

Reportedly on the verge of Mueller's final report being submitted to Attorney General William Barr, Trump has not relented in his attacks on the Justice Department and the investigation, which he calls a "witch hunt".

Barr said at his confirmation hearing that he would not permit White House interference in the investigation.

That's what President Donald Trump has shouted for two years about the special counsel's Russian Federation probe.
